What Makes Duke's Mike Krzyzewski A Champion!:
The Making of Champions:
If there is one person I completely respect in the making of champions it is Mike Krzyzewski. Since I was a Freshman in high school and got my first opportunity to see Mike Krzyzewski speak, I felt like I wanted to be just like “that guy.” Since then, I have watched him year-in-year-out take small town kids from the Midwest (like myself) and succeed with them as his players. While other coach’s come-and-go or have their “rebuilding years,” people act like they are concerned or relieved (depending on your love or hate) if Duke has more than 3 losses in a year.
After watching the Duke Vs. Baylor game, I understand why people dislike him so much…
It is because he is a class-act! Even after a huge victory that will put Duke in the Final Four, he is not like many coach’s that do the “in-your-face” jump in the air, scream like a giddy school-girl routine. Instead, he casually and sincerely, brushes off the other coaches on his team (who are doing just that) and sincerely walks over to the opponent, shakes their hands and congratulates them.
This guy is a true class-act and champion and whether you like Coach Krzyzewski or hate him, you have to respect that he is consistently turning high school boys into college graduating men and doing so without controversy!
